Meet David

David Blount familyDavid Blount represents District 29 (Hinds County including parts of Jackson, Byram, and Terry) in the Mississippi Senate. He is a Democrat.

David is an 8th generation Mississippian. He and his wife, Katie, have two children, Susanna and Charley. They are active in their church, neighborhood, and the community.

Senator Blount is Chairman of the Senate Public Property Committee. He also serves as Vice Chairman of the Senate Elections Committee and as a member of the Finance; Accountability Efficiency & Transparency; Education; Ethics; Judiciary B; and Public Health Committees.

David is the son of Richard and Martha Blount of Jackson.

David has been recognized as one of Mississippi's top young business leaders. He is a licensed real estate broker specializing in commercial real estate in the Jackson area. Some of his other community and church activities are:
